The posted compensation range of $750,000 - $850,000 /year is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician, you will join a highly active, physician-led practice at Dignity Health Medical Group - Stockton, playing a pivotal role in the continued success, growth, and development of a premier cardiac program that has served as our community's benchmark for over five decades.

You will provide expert surgical and clinical care to a robust regional patient base, utilizing advanced technology including the da Vinci Xi robotic system to perform a broad range of cardiac and thoracic cases. You will also contribute significantly to maintaining our legacy of clinical excellence while working in a highly collaborative, supportive environment alongside an engaged intensivist team and dedicated APPs.

To be successful in this role, you will be a BC/BE Cardiothoracic Surgery physician with a passion for delivering high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse community, strong surgical and clinical skills, and a commitment to collaborative teamwork where surgeons support one another to ensure both patient safety and a healthy work-life balance.

  • Deliver expert, full-spectrum surgical care across a broad range of cardiac and thoracic cases, utilizing state-of-the-art technology including the da Vinci Xi robotic system.
  • Partner with an established team of surgeons and a dedicated cardiac APP team who manage the majority of daily rounding and inpatient consults to streamline your clinical workflow.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with regional medical oncology groups and clinical partners to serve as a key provider for a referral network spanning six to eight counties.
  • Participate in a highly sustainable, team-oriented call schedule designed to minimize middle-of-the-night emergency requirements by scheduling emergent cases for the following day.

We are offering the following incentives to eligible new hires:

  • Two year competitive base salary guarantee ($750,000 to $850,000 per year) with high earning potential through productivity-based incentives thereafter
  • Signing bonus

  • Highly sustainable call schedule with minimal emergent middle-of-the-night hospital requirements
  • Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) eligibility, comprehensive benefits, and annual CME allowance

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board eligible or board certified in Thoracic Surgery (ABTS or AOBS)
  • Active or eligible medical license in the state of California
  • Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Completion of an accredited post-graduate residency or fellowship training program in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-based clinical problem-solving skills
