Neurosurgery Physician Assistant

Job Details

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (PA), you will be an advanced practice provider working alongside neurosurgeons to diagnose, treat, and manage patients with complex disorders of the brain, spine, and nervous system. You will serve as a vital clinical partner, balancing intricate inpatient care, surgical assisting, and comprehensive outpatient clinic management.

Every day you will perform patient evaluations, order and interpret diagnostics, assist in major cranial and spinal surgical procedures, and manage inpatient and ICU care, including daily rounds and discharge planning. Supported by our robust organizational resources, you will focus on delivering high-quality, comprehensive neurosurgical care.

To be successful, you will be a certified Physician Assistant with a strong background in surgical, orthopedic, or neurological settings. You will possess excellent clinical expertise, strong diagnostic problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to excel in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment, while upholding the highest ethical and patient-centered standards.

  • Clinical & Outpatient Duties: Conduct patient evaluations, obtain medical histories, formulate diagnoses, and manage pre/post-operative care in clinic. Order and interpret diagnostics (MRIs, CTs, labs).
  • Surgical Assisting (Operating Room): Act as primary first assistant during major cranial (e.g., craniotomies) and spinal (e.g., fusions, decompressions) procedures. Perform bedside/in-office procedures like lumbar punctures, EVD management, and shunt taps.
  • Inpatient & ICU Management: Conduct daily inpatient rounds, write progress notes, manage acute neurological emergencies, and coordinate comprehensive care plans from admission to discharge.
  • Adhere to AMA medical ethics and relevant professional standards.
  • Leverage our Physician Group's comprehensive resources (supply chain, tech trainers, credentialing, etc.) to optimize efficiency and clinical focus.

We are offering a competitive base, a generous CME allowance, and recruiting incentives, which include a sign-on bonus, student loan assistance, and relocation assistance for new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
