Responsibilities

Patient Care:

  • Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories.

Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Provide clear and concise medical information.
  • Foster a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Document medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  • Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.

Diagnostic Procedures:

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging.
  • Perform procedures as needed
  • Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
  • Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers.

Quality Improvement:

  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
  • Review and analyze clinical outcomes for continuous improvement.
  • Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.

Compliance:

  • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.
  • Stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices.
  • Participate in ongoing medical education and training.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.

Patient Assessment and Diagnosis:

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.

Treatment Planning and Management:

  • Develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies.
  • Provide health promotion and disease prevention education.

Collaboration and Consultation:

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
  • Consult with physicians and specialists as needed.
  • Coordinate patient care across various settings.

Qualifications
  • A valid and unrestricted California medical license
  • Must be BC within five years of training (ABMS or AOA)
  • Completion of an accredited post-graduate training program
  • This is not a J1 opporutnity

Woodland Clinic is affiliated with Dignity Health, the largest integrated health system in California. We are in need of additional Internists to jooin or primary care service line. An interest and or experience in Geriatric medicine is a plus. Bilingual physician candidates encouraged to apply.

Woodland is the county seat of Yolo County, located in California's Central Valley. Woodland is located 20 miles northwest of Sacramento at the intersection of Interstate 5 and State Route 113.
