Responsibilities
We have an opportunity for an experienced Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Our team, located at St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale, WA, includes Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Thoracic Surgery.
The cardiac surgery program has earned several STS 3 Star awards for CABG, AVR, and AVR CABG. We provide an excellent opportunity to provide a high level of care with unique individualized service. Position includes robotic opportunities, minimally invasive thoracic and cardiac surgery, and endoscopic radial harvest.
Clinic work consists of working up the surgical candidate for cardio and thoracic cases. Then follow-up care of post-surgical patients.
Operating room work consists of assisting the surgeon in open heart cases – primary role will be to harvest the veins out of the legs to be used in the coronary bypass procedures. Additionally, you will assist in the chest after the veins have been harvested from our patients.
Post Op Hospital work consists of taking care of the patients in the ICU and step down unit until discharge from the hospital.
Schedule is typically Mon-Fri with shared call rotation.
Qualifications
Requirements include:
- Active Washington State License
- Certification
- 2+ years CV/CT Surgery experience as an ARNP or Physician Assistant
- Ideal candidate will have Cardiac and/or Endovascular vein harvesting experience
