Job Summary and Responsibilities

Virginia Mason Medical Center as part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Seattle, Washington is recruiting a Physician Assistant - Certified or Nurse Practitioner to join our Gastroenterology team.

You’ll be part of a collegial team environment with superb support staff and easy access to primary care and specialists.  Virginia Mason patients benefit from a world-class, state-of-the-art endoscopy unit in a new hospital pavilion in addition to a dedicated, multidisciplinary team of experts committed to caring for patients with complex disorders. This position will be based in Downtown Seattle to start then move to a practice of 3 days in Downtown Seattle and 2 days in our Federal Way Regional Medical Center. 

Position highlights

  • Established and highly reputable Gastroenterology and Hepatology team with a strong and independent APP group. 

Compensation range of $150,200 - $181,900 is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Requirements

Nurse Practitioner 

  • Washington State Registered Nurse License and an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License are required for this job.
  • Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and National Provider Identifier (NPI) numbers may be required depending on the position, as well as prescriptive authority. 
  • Advanced background in nursing; an understanding of anatomy, physiology, histology, and pharmacology; and strong interpersonal and counseling skills.
  • Certification by specialty area as well as work experience in specialty area may be required, depending on the position.

Physician Assistant - Certified 

  • This position requires Certification as a Physician Assistant with prescriptive authority in the State of Washington.

The Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Center for Digestive Health is internationally known for bringing accomplished specialists together to create personalized, comprehensive treatment plans and optimize patient care through innovations in research, education, and a multidisciplinary approach to treatment of digestive and liver diseases.

Collaboratively, gastroenterologists, hepatologists, surgeons, radiologists, oncologists, endocrinologists, and pathologists apply innovative, specialized techniques for diagnosing and treating even the most difficult cases.

Historically we have integrated APPs seamlessly into our clinical practice working independently, alongside, and with support from our MD/DO colleagues. You will build your own patient panel and provide both consultation and continuity of care for patients with general gastrointestinal issues.
