Dignity Health Medical Group – Dominican is seeking a team oriented, Orthopedic Physician Assistant to join our collegial practice in Santa Cruz, CA.  We are a multi-specialty group with more than 100 physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners that is a physician led and patient centered organization.  We are affiliated with Dominican Hospital and aligned with one of the largest nonprofit health systems in the nation and the largest hospital system in California.

  • Work closely with and assist with the lead physician when he's on a 1:7 week call, including nights and weekends

Responsibilities

Patient Assessment and Diagnosis:

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.

Treatment Planning and Management:

  • Develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies.
  • Provide health promotion and disease prevention education.

Collaboration and Consultation:

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
  • Consult with physicians and specialists as needed.

Qualifications
  • A valid and unrestricted license to practice in the State of California
  • Nationally recognized certification (as determined by Medicare)
  • Completion of state mandated educational courses
