Dignity Health Medical Group – Inland Empire,a service of Dignity Health Medical Foundation, is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team at St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino, California. This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a high-volume, collaborative environment that is part of the Inland Empire Heart and Vascular Institute—the second-largest heart program in Southern California.

Opportunity Highlights:
- Join a dynamic team of 3 Cardiothoracic Surgeons and 4 Physician Assistants
- Participate in over 350+ CABG, valve, and aortic surgeries annually
- Robust scope of practice including endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH), first-assist in surgery, and ICU/telemetry post-operative care
- Full-time, hospital-based position at St. Bernardine Medical Center, a 342-bed, nonprofit, acute care facility known for advanced cardiovascular care
- Work with a supportive and experienced surgical team in a mission-driven, patient-centered setting

Responsibilities
Surgical First-Assist & Intraoperative Support
- Perform first-assist duties in CABG, valve, and aortic surgeries
- Conduct endoscopic vein harvesting (EVH) procedures
Pre- & Post-Operative Management
- Round on patients in ICU and telemetry units
- Monitor recovery and manage post-op care, including wound and chest tube care
Patient Evaluation & Clinical Decision-Making
- Perform histories, physicals, and assessments
- Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies
Care Coordination & Communication
- Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, nursing, and ancillary teams
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Current NCCPA certification and California PA license
Minimum of 1 years of Cardiothoracic Surgery experience, including:
Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH)
Surgical first-assist experience
Post-operative ICU/Telemetry patient care
