Neonatologist Needed At Mercy Medical Center Redding CA
Mercy Medical Center is at the heart of the community in Redding California, it is the premier hospital in Northern California. Our neonatology team in Redding is truly one of the best teams a physician could ask for, they value teamwork, and work-life balance and embody a collaborative team. In addition to supporting this team you would also get the pleasure of working with our 26 Family Medicine Residents.
Mercy Medical Center Redding is a full-service, not for profit that has 266 acute care licensed beds, 33 intensive care, 31 perinatal, 19 pediatric, 16 intensive care nursery, and 167 medical/surgical beds. Mercy Medical Center is a Trauma-level II, NICU Level III Facility.

Responsibilities
Neonatologists are medical professionals who specialize in the care of newborns and premature babies with complex or high-risk health conditions. Their responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing and treating birth-related issues
- Neonatologists diagnose and treat a range of conditions, including prematurity, low birth weight, birth defects, and infections.
- Providing care
- Neonatologists manage the care of babies from birth, including performing procedures like central line placements, lumbar punctures, and complex reconstructive surgeries.
- Consulting with other healthcare professionals
- Neonatologists consult with other healthcare professionals and provide information to parents and families.
- Leading emergencies
- Neonatologists lead emergencies as they arise and may attend complicated deliveries.
Neonatologists typically work in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs), where they support fragile or underdeveloped babies in their first few weeks of life.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree:Graduated from medical school with an MD or DO degree.
- Pediatric Residency:Completed a three-year residency program in pediatrics.
- Neonatal Fellowship: Completed a three-year fellowship in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
- Board Certification:Passed/or be eligible for the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine board exam.
- State Licensure:Obtained/or will obtain a medical license to practice in the state of California.
