Job Summary and Responsibilities

Dignity Health Arizona is looking for a Plastic Surgery Advanced Provider. The Advance Practice Provider is responsible for providing preoperative, operative, and postoperative care to patients undergoing surgery. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of surgical procedures and be able to provide compassionate care to patients in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Assess patients preoperatively and identify any potential risks or complications.
  • Provide care to patients during surgery, assisting the surgeon.
  • Provide postoperative care to patients, including monitoring vital signs, dressing wounds and providing discharge instructions.
  • Educate patients and their families about the surgical procedure and recovery process.
  • Collaborate with the surgeon and other members of the healthcare team to provide the best possible care to patients.
  • Assess patients in clinic
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Provide direct patient care in the operating room and in the post-operative setting
  • Work with the surgical team to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Order, interpret, and record results of clinical tests and report results to physicians
  • Prescribe medications and make recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of surgical procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate consistent capabilities to function effectively and even thrive in high-pressure situations and work environments.

Job Requirements

PA Requirements:

  • Degree as a Physician Assistant (PA-C)
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Must hold and maintain: a.) AZ Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants License, b.) NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant.
  • Valid DEA registration.
  • Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff

NP Requirements: 

    • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
    • Graduate of accredited program for Nurse Practitioners
    • Compact state or Arizona RN license
    • Arizona Advanced Practice Nurse license
    • Must hold and maintain National Certificate as a nurse practitioner in area of specialty under AZ regulations: a.) NP-AACN, b.)  NP-AANP,  c.)  NP-ANCC
    • Valid DEA registration
    • RNFA
    • Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff

Hello humankindness Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed physician group of Dignity Health Arizona. Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 200 providers and 500 support staff that cover a wide variety of specialties. The medical group has had tremendous success over the past few years and now provides more than 73 subspecialty services. The physicians provide clinical services in their areas of specialty and many serve in pivotal academic, research and leadership roles. DHMG is also heavily involved in preparing tomorrow's healthcare providers. DHMG has 84 medical school students and approximately 200 residents and fellows throughout the 25 academic programs. Clinical services are complemented with translational and bench research to augment medical education for residents and students. The mission of Dignity Health Medical Group is consistent with Dignity Health's mission and St. Joseph's guiding principles with a focus on innovative clinical care and the pursuit of excellence through scholarly activities.
