Overview

Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) is seeking a patient-centric, collaborative Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) physician to join our growing MFM team in the Department of Women’s Health in Phoenix, Arizona. DHMG is a physician-led, clinically integrated medical group that spans over 45 practice sites across Arizona. About the Position

Our MFM team provides comprehensive high-risk obstetric care across four office locations and three hospitals in the Phoenix metropolitan area. We offer consultative services, advanced prenatal diagnostics, and inpatient care, collaborating with OB hospitalist programs at all covered facilities.

Practice Highlights

  • MFM Fellowship Program: We are proud to support an ACGME-accredited MFM fellowship, training the next generation of maternal-fetal medicine specialists.
  • Creighton University Faculty Appointment: All faculty have the opportunity for an academic appointment with Creighton University School of Medicine, contributing to education, mentorship, and research.
  • AIUM-Accredited Ultrasound Program with expert perinatal imaging.
  • Multidisciplinary Team: Collaborate with genetic counselors, sonographers, RNs, diabetes educators, OB hospitalists, and a dedicated support staff to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Equal Call Distribution: Call and coverage responsibilities are evenly distributed among the team, typically one week per month.

Hospital Affiliations & Services

Our team provides MFM coverage at the following hospitals:

St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center

  • Level IV maternal care facility, serving as a referral center for high-risk pregnancies across Arizona.
  • Level IV NICU, staffed by neonatologists from Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
  • More than 5,000 deliveries annually, with a high volume of complex maternal and fetal cases.
  • Academic flagship hospital for Dignity Health and Creighton University residency and fellowship programs.

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center

  • New Women’s & Children’s Pavilion opening soon, expanding maternity and pediatric services.
  • Level III NICU and high-risk OB care.
  • Home to the Dignity Health East Valley Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program, enhancing education and patient care.
  • More than 4,500 deliveries annually, with growth expected as the Women’s & Children’s Pavilion expands services.

Chandler Regional Medical Center

  • Full-service, 429-bed acute-care hospital with Level I trauma services.
  • Provides obstetric, cardiovascular, and neurosurgical care, supporting a growing perinatal patient population.
  • More than 3,000 deliveries annually, contributing to a combined total of over 7,500 births per year at Mercy Gilbert and Chandler Regional.

Education & Research Opportunities

DHMG has a strong academic partnership with Creighton University School of Medicine, where faculty actively contribute to the education of:

  • MFM fellows, OB/GYN residents, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Research and academic activities are strongly encouraged and supported.

Additionally, Dignity Health East Valley Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is an integral part of our academic mission, providing residency training in the East Valley and expanding educational opportunities for future OB/GYNs.


Responsibilities
  • Consultative services
  • Expert in high risk maternal and fetal care, and perinatal ultrasound. Practice is AIUM accredited.        
  • Interest in educating fellows, residents, and students
  • Research or similar academic activities are strongly encouraged
  • Call and shifts are distributed equally among the team of perinatologists, approximately 1 week per month. 
  • Candidates are encouraged to develop service lines of particular interest to them and mentor/educate our staff 
  • Be member of a fantastic team including genetic counselors, sonographers, RNs, diabetic educator, and dedicated office/support staff

Qualifications
  • MD/DO with Board Certification/Eligibility in Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
  • Eligible for Arizona Medical Licensure.
  • Ability to obtain full, unrestricted hospital privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospitals.
  • Passion for team-based, patient-centered care.
