Overview

Cardiology Program Director

Dignity Health Medical Group - in partnership with Creighton University School of Medicine – Phoenix is actively seeking an experienced cardiology physician leader to serve as the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program Director.

The Program Director of Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program is directly accountable to the Designated Institutional Officer (DIO) at Creighton University School of Medicine- Phoenix and the Chair at the training site where they are primarily based/employed. The Program Director will be provided with the required protected, non-clinical time dedicated to administration of the program. The Cardiovascular Disease Program is a three-year, twelve fellow program with initial accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

As a clinically active cardiologist, this physician leader will play a vital role in our growing cardiovascular division within Dignity Health Medical Group. Our team is committed to delivering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care, encompassing robust structural heart programs, complex PCI, and the management of a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, including cardiomyopathies, pulmonary hypertension, right ventricular dysfunction, cardiogenic shock, and durable LVAD management.

The primary clinic location is located on the campus of St Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. The group provides a comprehensive array of services with continued growth into the structural and interventional fields.

In 2017, Creighton University, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, Valleywise Health Medical Center, District Medical Group, and Dignity Health Medical Group entered a strategic partnership to strengthen and expand the Graduate Medical Education programs offered by each institution. The move brought together the administration of the residency and fellowship programs previously managed by each member under the Arizona Health Education Alliance, with Creighton University School of Medicine – Phoenix serving as the sponsoring entity.  St. Joseph Hospital and Medical Center and Valleywise Health Medical Center will be the primary clinical sites. Creighton University School of Medicine-Phoenix is dedicated to training future generations of doctors who will lead the nation in providing outstanding hospital-based, ambulatory, and subspecialty care. Our program cultivates an environment of inquiry and collaboration where physicians at all stages of their careers can maximize their personal and professional growth in the challenging discipline of Cardiovascular Disease.
