Dignity Health – Northridge Hospital Medical Center, a proud member of Dignity Health, is seeking a dedicated Faculty Family Medicine Physician to join our thriving team. This is an exciting opportunity for a physician who enjoys a dynamic blend of outpatient care, teaching, and mentoring in our Family Medicine Residency Program. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about providing high-quality care to patients while shaping the next generation of physicians through lectures, precepting, and clinical education.
As a Faculty Family Medicine Physician on our team, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality patient care while leading the educational and clinical components of our Residency Program, mentoring the next generation of family physicians, and ensuring continuous innovation and alignment with the evolving needs of our healthcare system.
- 35% Outpatient Care: Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a traditional outpatient family medicine practice, focusing on a broad spectrum of patients, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
- 65% Residency Faculty: Serve as a key faculty member in our Family Medicine Residency Program, including precepting residents in clinical settings, leading educational sessions, and fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Pediatric Call: Participate in 14 weekend days of pediatric call annually, rounding on inpatients as needed.
- Mentorship and Education: Guide residents through their clinical rotations and didactic learning, ensuring they develop both clinical expertise and compassionate patient care.
- 35% Outpatient Care: Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a traditional outpatient family medicine practice, focusing on a broad spectrum of patients, from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Responsibilities
- Lead and Mentor Residents: Supervise and mentor residents, creating a dynamic, supportive learning environment that fosters the development of emerging family physicians through both clinical and academic teaching.
- Curriculum Oversight & Innovation: Collaborate with residency leadership to continuously improve and innovate the residency curriculum, ensuring it aligns with evolving healthcare needs and ACGME standards.
- Accreditation & Compliance: Assist in maintaining compliance with ACGME requirements and institutional policies, supporting accreditation processes, and ensuring the ongoing excellence of the Family Medicine Residency Program.
- Resident Recruitment & Retention: Support the recruitment, selection, and retention of residents, helping to ensure a diverse and highly skilled cohort and facilitating orientation, assessments, and career counseling.
- Program Evaluation & Improvement: Contribute to the evaluation and enhancement of the residency program, identifying opportunities for growth, participating in the Program Evaluation Committee, and implementing improvements.
- Clinical & Educational Leadership: Provide leadership in resident education and training, overseeing scholarly projects, quality improvement initiatives, and research while setting a strong example for both clinical and academic development.
- Faculty Development & Collaboration: Support faculty development by providing mentorship and guidance, promoting professional growth, and enhancing teaching and mentoring skills within the residency program.
- Resident Rotation & Scheduling: Collaborate with the Program Director and other residency leaders to assist in creating resident rotation schedules, ensuring efficient coordination with other medical education programs.
- Scholarship & Research: Engage in scholarly activities, including education research, quality improvement projects, and academic demonstrations, while mentoring residents and faculty involved in research.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of the Family Medicine Residency Program and ensure alignment with hospital leadership and regulatory directives.
Qualifications
- MD/DO
- Completion of an ACGME accredited Family Medicine residency program
- BC in Family Medicine
- Must possess or have an ability to obtain an unrestricted California medical license prior to employment
- Previous experience as a Faculty Family Medicine Physician is strongly preferred.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in word processing and communication software.
- Knowledge of clinical practice laws, ethics, and ACGME requirements for graduate medical education.
- Familiarity with ACGME requirements, ABFM standards, and California licensure regulations.
