Responsibilities

Dignity Health Medical Group – Merced is seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Endocrinologist to join our growing multispecialty group in Merced, California. This position offers an exciting opportunity to provide outpatient and inpatient care while also playing a pivotal role in designing and developing a new solo endocrinology practice, supported by a robust referral network and a highly collaborative clinical team.

Opportunity Highlights

  • Design and Lead a New Endocrinology Practice – Spearhead the development of a solo endocrinology service line, tailoring it to meet the unique needs of the community and establishing a lasting impact on patient care.
  • Outpatient and Inpatient Care – Manage a wide variety of endocrine conditions, including diabetes (Type 1, Type 2, and gestational), thyroid diseases, adrenal and pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, and metabolic diseases.
    Diagnostic Expertise – Perform diagnostic procedures such as thyroid ultrasounds, biopsies, and interpret imaging studies to assess and diagnose endocrine disorders.
  • Collaborative Multidisciplinary Team – Work closely with other specialties, including family medicine, internal medicine, cardiology, and nephrology, to manage complex, co-morbid patient cases and provide holistic care.
  • Patient Education and Lifestyle Management – Educate patients on managing chronic endocrine conditions, focusing on lifestyle modifications and the importance of medication adherence.
  • Flexible Scheduling for Work-Life Balance – Enjoy a Monday–Friday schedule with flexible hours and limited call requirements, promoting a healthy work-life balance in a community-focused environment.

Qualifications
  • MD or DO degree with Board Certification or Eligibility in Endocrinology (ABMS or AOA)
  • California Medical License (or ability to obtain) and DEA Certification
  • Experience or interest in designing and developing a new endocrinology service line
  • Demonstrated interest in chronic disease management and preventive care
  • Excellent communication skills and commitment to team-based, patient-centered care
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to the establishment of a new endocrinology practice
