Job Details
The Opportunity:
- Provide PRN weekend hospital coverage, working three 12-hour shifts, with occasional opportunities for weekday coverage based on hospital needs and APRN availability.
- Assist cardiovascular surgeons with patient rounding, assessment, documentation, and discharge planning.
- Accurately document all patient care encounters, including comprehensive assessments and progress notes.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans, progress, and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate closely with both the CV Surgery APRN team and CVICU APRN team.
- Provide direct, comprehensive, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services to patients and their families within the scope of practice.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Provide healthcare services within the Registered Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, adhering to Collaborative Practice Agreements with collaborating physicians.
- Work within a team of 5 Cardiovascular Surgeons and 5 APRNs.
Qualifications
- Current RNP and/or APN licensure in Arkansas.
- Completion of an accredited graduate program in nursing and preceptorship, including supporting documentation. Current BLS certification required. Current ACLS certification (for in-patient setting) is preferred.
- Acute Care certification required
- Eligibility for a Medicare provider number and DEA registration.
- Three to five years of clinical experience in cardiovascular services is preferred. One year experience in an APN Role preferred.
