Responsibilities

Job Summary / Purpose

Under the supervision of the Director of Education and Research, the Academic Placement Liaison (APL) plays a pivotal role in fostering collaborative relationships with academic institutions, industry partners, and community organizations. This position is dedicated to advancing workforce development initiatives, enhancing educational programs, and driving innovative projects that align with our mission to serve and uplift the community. In addition, the APL provides critical support to the Clinical Education Department, ensuring that all educational initiatives are aligned with the department’s goals and standards. The APL will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to create impactful learning experiences, support workforce pipeline development, and engage in community outreach efforts.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

Support for Clinical Education Department:

  • Collaborate with the Clinical Education Department to align academic partnerships and workforce development initiatives with overall educational goals.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of clinical education programs that meet the evolving needs of the healthcare workforce.

Partnership Development:

  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with local and national academic institutions, industry partners, and community organizations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for joint initiatives that support workforce development and educational enrichment.

Workforce Development Initiatives:

  • Lead efforts to expand clinical learning opportunities across various disciplines, including nursing, respiratory therapy, surgical technology, and radiography.
  • Develop and implement innovative programs aimed at preparing students and employees for future workforce needs.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of job shadowing, simulation experiences, and workforce training programs.

Innovative Project Leadership:

  • Coordinate and manage multi-disciplinary projects that align with our mission and strategic goals.
  • Serve as the project lead for educational initiatives such as STEM and health career academies, ensuring successful collaboration among academic institutions and industry partners.
  • Drive the development of new educational exhibits and community programs that foster interest in healthcare careers.

Community Engagement and Outreach:

  • Organize and lead community-based events such as health fairs, educational outreach programs, and career exploration activities.
  • Engage with local schools, community organizations, and academic institutions to provide students with exposure to healthcare careers and educational opportunities.
  • Work with the Healthy Communities team and other partners to support community health initiatives and educational outreach.

Program Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of workforce development and educational programs through data analysis and feedback collection.
  • Implement continuous process improvement strategies to enhance the quality and impact of programs.
  • Collaborate with academic and industry partners to refine programs based on emerging needs and best practices.

Collaboration and Resource Management:

  • Coordinate resource sharing and joint planning with internal departments such as Education, Clinical Services, and IT.
  • Leverage faculty expertise and industry connections to enhance program content and delivery.
  • Manage program budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure successful outcomes.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Education, Public Health, or a related field required;
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Required Licensure and Certifications

  • RN:KY

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Training

  • At least three years of experience in partnership development, workforce development, or project management within a healthcare or educational setting.
  • Demonstrated success in leading collaborative projects and developing innovative programs.
  • Experience working with academic institutions, community organizations, and industry partners.
