The Orthopedic Trauma surgeon will report to the Chief of Orthopedic Trauma Physician Services and Ultimately the Chair Of Orthopedics for all employment, professional and quality-related responsibilities. The surgeon will play a role in the development of the growing Orthopedic Department. The surgeon may be asked to participate in recruitment and hiring of team members as needed.

- Work Schedule 1:6 call
- Full APP call coverage 24/7
- Dedicated 3 ortho trauma OR rooms/staff 7 days/week
- Academic Position with Creighton Medical School – Phoenix

Dignity Health Medical Group works in partnership with Chandler Regional Medical Center (CRMC), the busiet ACS-verified Level I trauma center in Arizona. Our team’s focus is driven around being leaders in education, centered on evidenced based medicine while ensuring consistent collaboration and communications within the team. Our orthopedic trauma team consists of multiple physicians and advanced practitioners, who partner with both hospital physicians and our trauma surgeons in order to provide the best possible care to our patients.
CRMC evaluated 90,00 patients in the emergency department and 5,900 trauma patients (92% blunt) last year. The trauma bay consists of 6 bays with advanced digital imaging, splinting/orthotic coverage, and anesthesia support. We have excellent subspecialty support, including nine fellowship trained trauma surgeons, dedicated 24/7 trauma room, 70+ ICU rooms, Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI), Norton Thoracic Institute (NTI), and a Team S (special hospitalist service only for the surgical services). Office location with imaging services is a short 2 min walk next to hospital.
CHANDLER, ARIZONA:
Chandler, AZ, is large (300K) SE family oriented suburb of Phoenix within a 30 min drive. Major employers are Intel, Wells Fargo, Northrup Grumman, NSP, PayPal, and Microchip Technology. Boarding Chandler, San Tan Valley, Superstition Mountains, Saguaro Lake, Salt River allow for beautiful 30 min get aways. Within the same day, one can ski or hike in Flagstaff or Sedona or swim in the pacific ocean. The Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Lake Havasu, Sedona, Mt Lemon, Salt River, Horseshoe Bend, Lake Pleasant, and Seguro Lake are all within driving distance. We are a 5 hour drive or 1 hour flight from San Diego or Las Vegas. The weather is awesome 9 months a year with 340+ sunny days a year. When the summer weather is hot you can hop in your pool or drive 2 hours away where the weather is always 30 degrees cooler.

Creighton provides full CME, research, and publication support. Future goals will be an orthopedic residency and orthopedic trauma fellowship programs in combination with Chandler Regional Medical Center.

Qualifications
- Fellowship Training and American Board Certification in Orthopedic Trauma
- Must have or be eligible for Arizona state medical license
- Acceptable completion of an ACGME accredited residency program with current ABMS board certification
- A passion for providing clinically excellent care
- Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospitals
