Overview

CHI St. Alexius Health is seeking a BC/BE Anesthesiologist to join our team in Bismarck, ND.  This 225 bed Level II Trauma center provides comprehensive care to the Bismarck/Mandan area and serves as a regional referral center.  It has a 14-bed closed ICU with 24/7 Intensivist coverage and round the clock Hospitalist service.

Practice Details:

  • MDA fellowship is not required
  • Anesthesia team is comprised of 8 full-time and 2 PRN physicians as well as 17 CRNAs
  • Coverage of one hospital
  • Broad case mix: Cardiothoracic, Pediatric, General, Ortho, OB/GYN, Urology, Neuro, etc
  • Surgical suites, endoscopy suite, cardiac cath labs, PACU, EP lab
  • Care team model with medical direction of CRNAs (except bypass cases)
  • Physicians sit cardiac cases (TEE comfortability a must) and run labor epidural service
  • EPIC EMR

CHI St. Alexius Health is a Level II Trauma Center and is the largest health care delivery system in central and western North Dakota that is comprised of a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, and critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, Washburn and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services. In addition, CHI St. Alexius Health manages five CAHs in North Dakota- Ashley, Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Medical Center in Mobridge, SD.  CHI St. Alexius Health also owns and operates outpatient clinics in Mandan and Minot.  CHI St. Alexius Health – Bismarck, is a 225-bed, full-service, acute care medical center offering a full line of inpatient and outpatient medical services, including primary and specialty physician clinics; home health and hospice services; durable medical equipment services and a fitness and human performance center. Responsibilities

Patient Care:

    • Diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
    • Conduct thorough medical examinations and histories.

Communication:

    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
    • Provide clear and concise medical information.
    • Foster a collaborative and patient-centered approach to healthcare.

Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
    • Document medical findings, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
    • Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations.

Diagnostic Procedures:

    • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging.
    • Perform procedures as needed
    • Collaborate with specialists for further diagnostic evaluation.

Team Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
    • Provide consultative services to other healthcare providers.

Quality Improvement:

    • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
    • Review and analyze clinical outcomes for continuous improvement.
    • Implement changes to enhance patient care and safety.

Compliance:

    • Adhere to ethical and legal standards in medical practice.
    • Stay informed about healthcare regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Participate in quality audits to ensure adherence to standards.

Continuous Learning:

    • Stay abreast of medical advancements and best practices.
    • Participate in ongoing medical education and training.
    • Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications
  • American Board Certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty
  • A valid and unrestricted state medical license or license-eligible
