Overview

Dignity Health Medical Group – Sequoia is seeking a General Neurology Physician for our majority outpatient practice in Belmont, along with our Stroke Director opportunity at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City.  Sequoia Hospital has an Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Centers. Join our team and practice alongside established physicians Dr. Jeffrey Javerbaum and Dr. Chi-Chen Mao as well as other community partners.

Compensation/Benefits Include:
  • Excellent earning potential including a salary guarantee period of $275,000 - $300,000/year and productivity bonus
  • Call Stipend

Known for their wooded hills, views of the San Francisco Bay, and stretches of open space, there are quiet residential communities in the midst of the culturally and technologically rich San Francisco Bay area.


Responsibilities
  • Outpatient Care: Diagnose and treat patients with neurological conditions such as migraines, seizures, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and neuropathies in a clinic setting.
  • Hospital Call Coverage: Participate in shared on-call rotations, managing inpatient neurological emergencies, including stroke alerts and acute neurological conditions.
  • Stroke Directorship: Oversee stroke program operations, ensuring compliance with national guidelines and maintaining certifications for Dignity Health Sequoia's stroke center.
  • Acute Stroke Management: Lead and coordinate care for patients presenting with acute strokes, including administration of tPA and thrombectomy protocols.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with emergency department staff, hospitalists, and other specialists to optimize patient outcomes for both inpatient and outpatient care.
  • Program Development: Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives for stroke care, including staff education, protocol updates, and performance metrics monitoring.
  • Community Engagement: Provide educational outreach to the community and medical professionals about stroke prevention, recognition, and management.
  • Teaching and Mentorship: Mentor medical students, residents, or fellows rotating through the department as part of their training.
  • Administrative Duties: Attend hospital and departmental meetings, contribute to strategic planning for neurological and stroke services, and manage relevant documentation and reporting.
  • Research and Continuing Education: Stay updated on advances in neurology and stroke care through continuing education and contribute to clinical research efforts if applicable.

Board Eligible/Board Certified in Neurology
