You will provide expert clinical care while overseeing all administrative, operational, and educational aspects of the residency program, actively teaching, mentoring, and evaluating residents and medical students as part of your faculty appointment. Serve as the OB/GYN Residency Program Director, providing leadership, authority, and administrative oversight for all elements of the residency training program, including curriculum design, resident selection, and ACGME accreditation standards.
Deliver expert inpatient and outpatient clinical care, supervising residents in the clinic, labor and delivery, and the operating room to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
Mentor and evaluate residents and core faculty members, fostering a culture of academic inquiry, wellness, and clinical excellence while advancing departmental research and scholarly activity.
Partner and collaborate cross-functionally with hospital leadership, regional clinical leaders, and community partners to optimize clinical resources and address regional women's healthcare disparities.
We are offering the following incentives to eligible new hires:
2yr guaranteed annual base salary ($350,000 - $400,000/year) with an embedded leadership premium for the Program Director role, plus productivity-based incentives
Generous signing bonus and relocation assistance
100% employer-paid medical and dental insurance for you and your family

Discover Stockton: Impactful Medicine & An Unmatched Quality of Life
Stockton is a vibrant, expanding Central California city of 320,000+ that offers healthcare professionals a rare combination of a diverse clinical landscape, a highly affordable cost of living, and immediate proximity to major Northern California metro hubs. Choosing to practice here means your work carries profound meaning; you will step directly into a purpose-driven role, expanding critical medical access to a deeply appreciative and deserving community that relies on our care.
Clinical Growth & Meaningful Impact: Anchored by St. Joseph’s Medical Center - a premier, 355-bed regional hospital actively undergoing a massive, state-of-the-art multi-million dollar expansion tower project. Stockton is also dynamic in medical education, serving as a vital clinical training partner for the region’s expanding medical school programs. Here, you have the unique opportunity to treat a wonderfully diverse patient population while being a direct part of the solution to regional healthcare disparities.
Exceptional Quality of Life: Experience the rich benefits of California living without the high-stress environment, heavy gridlock, or steep congestion of coastal cities. Stockton offers an energetic, culturally diverse, and family-oriented community atmosphere featuring beautiful waterfront neighborhoods along the California Delta where you can truly thrive both inside and outside of the clinic.
Cost of Living Advantage: Enjoy significantly lower housing costs and a highly competitive dollar-to-value ratio compared to nearby San Francisco and Silicon Valley markets, allowing you to maximize your earnings, build substantial home equity, and maintain an expansive lifestyle.
Unmatched Location: Ideally situated in Northern California’s Central Valley—just an hour from Sacramento, 90 minutes from San Francisco, and a short drive to Napa Valley wine country.
Outdoor & Waterfront Recreation: Built along a massive, scenic inland delta waterway system perfect for boating, water sports, and fishing. Stockton is also surrounded by premium golf courses, expansive regional parks, and serves as an easy gateway to Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Arts, Culture & Academics: Home to the historic Bob Hope Theatre, a professional local symphony, beautiful minor-league sports venues along the downtown marina, and the historic University of the Pacific campus.
Unless directed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement, applications for this position will be considered on a rolling basis. CommonSpirit Health cannot anticipate the date by which a successful candidate may be identified.
