The posted compensation range of $560,000 - $560,000 /year is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Reconstructive Hand Surgeon
Job Details
As our Expert Reconstructive Hand Surgeon (plastics), you will join Pacific Central Coast Health Center’s (PHC), a distinguished service of Dignity Health, established clinical team to drive reconstructive hand surgery care, microvascular practice, and regional program expansion along the Central Coast.
Every day you will be performing direct patient consultations, managing acute hand trauma, executing microvascular reconstructions and nerve repairs, and participating in collaborative call coverage and quality improvement initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you will showcase a proven track record in surgical excellence, advanced microsurgical and trauma reconstruction principles, interdepartmental collaboration, and a commitment to clinical quality standards.
We are offering a competitive base compensation of $560k annually (24m guarantee), with productivity and quality bonus structures that can bring total on-target earnings to $750,000+. New hires will also receive a generous sign-on bonus, relocation assistance, comprehensive medical and dental benefits and a robust retirement package alongside malpractice coverage to thrive within our collaborative coastal network.
Job Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completed residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
- Completed fellowship training in microsurgery.
- Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
- Active or eligible license in the state of California
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

The Surgery Center – Dignity Health – Santa Maria offers a premier, multi-disciplinary surgical healing environment combining advanced technology and top-tier clinical infrastructure. It integrates with Marian Regional Medical Center, an award-winning 191-bed acute care hospital (with a licensed capacity of 286 beds and a Level II Trauma Center) known for clinical quality. You will collaborate with over 290 multi-disciplinary PHC providers across the coastal network.
