The posted compensation range of $296.25 - $296.25 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Per Diem Hematologist/Oncologist - Santa Cruz, CA

As our Per Diem Hematologist & Oncologist, you will join Dignity Health Medical Group – Dominican, a physician-led, patient-centered organization in Santa Cruz, CA. You will play a vital role in providing expert hematology and oncology care within our established, high-performing oncology program at the Mary & Richard Solari Cancer Center. This role offers the unique flexibility of a PRN position while allowing you to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a stunning coastal community where the redwoods meet the Pacific.

You will provide per diem coverage within our Commission on Cancer (CoC) Accredited program, delivering expert hematology and oncology care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. You will utilize the co-located Solari Infusion Center, featuring 15 private bays for modern treatment delivery. This role allows you to collaborate effectively with our multidisciplinary team, potentially participating in daily rounds for the 17-bed inpatient oncology unit as needed, and partnering with navigators and social workers to ensure a seamless patient journey from diagnosis through survivorship.

To be successful in this role, you will be a driven, Board Certified/Eligible Hematologist & Oncologist seeking the flexibility of a per diem position. You will thrive within a collaborative, mission-driven team dedicated to provider well-being and exceptional patient outcomes, practicing within modern facilities at Dominican Hospital and the Mary & Richard Solari Cancer Center. This opportunity allows you to enjoy the vibrant local culture and outdoor lifestyle of Santa Cruz while making a meaningful impact on the community.

We are offering a competitive rate of $2,370 per 8-hour shift for this Per Diem (Non-benefited) status.


Job Requirements

Required

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or eligibility in Hematology/Oncolgy
  • Active or eligible license in the state of California
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
