The posted compensation range of $500,000 - $500,000 /year is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Details
As our Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician, you will help shape the future of our expanding Department of Women’s Health in the greater Phoenix area. This role offers the perfect balance of clinical complexity and academic influence, allowing you to deliver evidence-based care while mentoring the next generation of physicians through our partnership with the Creighton University School of Medicine – Phoenix.
Every day you will provide complex clinical care, advanced fetal imaging, inpatient consultation, medical education, and have opportunities for research and program development. Practice within a team-based model supported by genetic counselors, dedicated registered nurses, advanced practice providers, diabetes education, experienced perinatal sonographers, and dedicated clinical and administrative staff.
Primary clinical practice location is within our Central Valley market, with flexibility to participate at additional MFM sites based on clinical need, physician interests, and continued program growth.
- Outpatient Maternal-Fetal Medicine consultation and co-management
- Advanced obstetric ultrasound and prenatal diagnosis
- Fetal growth assessment and Doppler surveillance
- Fetal echocardiography and evaluation of fetal anomalies
- Management of complex maternal medical and obstetric conditions
- Prenatal diagnostic procedures
- Inpatient Maternal-Fetal Medicine consultation
- Multidisciplinary maternal and fetal care planning
- Collaboration with OB/GYN physicians, OB hospitalists, neonatology, pediatric subspecialists, anesthesia, critical care, and other specialists
- Call responsibilities are shared equitably among the Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians and are currently approximately one week per month
A Growing Academic MFM Program
- Our division supports an ACGME-accredited Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship through Creighton University School of Medicine – Phoenix.
- Faculty participate in the education and supervision of:
- MFM fellows
- OB/GYN residents
- Medical students
- Sonographers
- Advanced practice providers
- Other healthcare professionals
- Ultrasound practice is AIUM accredited and supported by an experienced team of dedicated perinatal sonographers.

Job Requirements
Required
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
- Successful completion of an accredited Obstetrics and Gynecology residency
- Successful completion of an accredited Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship
- Board certified or board eligible in Maternal-Fetal Medicine
- Eligible for unrestricted Arizona medical licensure
- Ability to obtain full and unrestricted medical staff privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospitals
- Commitment to collaborative, evidence-based, patient-centered care
- Interest in participating in the educational mission of the division

St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center – Phoenix: St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center serves as a major tertiary referral and academic center in Central Phoenix and is a principal teaching site for Creighton University School of Medicine – Phoenix graduate medical education programs.
Our MFM physicians care for patients with complex maternal and fetal conditions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across obstetrics, neonatology, anesthesia, critical care, cardiology, surgery, and other subspecialties.
St. Joseph’s serves as an important referral destination for high-risk pregnancies from throughout Arizona and the surrounding region.
Mercy Gilbert Medical Center – Gilbert: Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is a rapidly growing East Valley hospital with extensive women’s and children’s services and an expanding partnership with Phoenix Children’s.
The campus includes the Women’s & Children’s Pavilion, providing expanded labor and delivery, postpartum, neonatal, pediatric, and specialty services.
Mercy Gilbert is also an important teaching site within Dignity Health’s East Valley graduate medical education programs.
Chandler Regional Medical Center – Chandler: Chandler Regional Medical Center is a major acute-care and Level I trauma center serving the rapidly growing East Valley. Together, Chandler Regional and Mercy Gilbert provide more than 7,000 births annually and serve one of the fastest-growing regions in Arizona.
Our physicians collaborate across the East Valley system to provide consultation and specialty care for women with medically and obstetrically complex pregnancies.
