The posted compensation range of $296,000 - $320,000 /Year is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Physical Medicine Rehab
Job Details
As our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physician, you will join CHI Health Clinic and Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. You will become part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary rehabilitation team dedicated to helping patients maximize function, independence, and quality of life through comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services and continuum-based care.
Every day you will provide specialized rehabilitation care for patients recovering from complex medical conditions, lead interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams, collaborate with hospital-based and outpatient providers, and contribute to the education of future physicians through Creighton University School of Medicine.
To be successful in this role, you will be a board-certified or board-eligible Physiatrist with strong clinical expertise, a patient-centered approach to rehabilitation medicine, and a commitment to multidisciplinary care. You will also demonstrate excellent communication skills, leadership abilities, and an interest in teaching and program development.
- Serve as the rehabilitation team leader for patients admitted to the inpatient rehabilitation unit
- Provide comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services focused on maximizing patient function and independence
- Collaborate with hospitalists in a dual-management model to deliver coordinated, high-quality patient care
- Manage an average daily census of 8 to 12 patients
- Work closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nursing staff, case managers, and other rehabilitation professionals to develop individualized treatment plans
- Participate in a call structure that supports work-life balance, with hospitalists providing inpatient weekend coverage and physiatrists taking home call for rehabilitation-related issues
- Evaluate and manage patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, orthopedic conditions, and other disabling illnesses and injuries
- Participate in the education and mentorship of Creighton University School of Medicine medical students
- Collaborate with a large network of primary care providers, orthopedic surgeons, and spine specialists to support inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation referrals
- Contribute to the continued growth and development of rehabilitation services across the continuum of care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary care planning to optimize patient outcomes
- Support a culture of collaboration, excellence, and patient-centered rehabilitation care
We are offering a competitive salary, CME allowance, relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to practice within a growing rehabilitation program. Physicians also have the opportunity to expand into outpatient rehabilitation services based on individual interests, including brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke recovery, amputation rehabilitation, spasticity management, and electrodiagnostic medicine.

Required
- American Board Certified or Board Eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
- Completion of a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program
- Valid and unrestricted medical license or eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Nebraska
Preferred
