Opportunity Highlights:

  • Established team of 5 MDAs 
  • Collaborative model with independent CRNA group
  • Level II trauma with internal flight and EMS services
  • The Anesthesia team provides anesthesia services at both CHI Health Good Samaritan & Heartland Surgery Center
  • Diverse case mix: General, Orthopedic, OBGYN, Urology, ENT, Neuroscience, Cardio/Thoracic (optional)
  • Robust hospital support with strong Hospitalist and Intensivist programs along with multiple subspecialty physicians.
  • Academic affiliation with Creighton University School of Medicine
  • Epic EMR
  • Time off: 40 days + 6 holidays

Where You'll Work

CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 236-bed, Level II Trauma Center and regional referral hub serving central and western Nebraska. As a tertiary care facility, Good Samaritan offers a broad range of specialty services and a highly collaborative medical staff dedicated to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.  The hospital features a 24-bed open ICU with intensivist support, a strong hospitalist program and engaged subspecialists across cardiology, thoracic and vascular surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and women’s services. Hospital-based medical transport services at Good Samaritan include AirCare–the state’s longest operating air medical provider, as well as ground 911 and long-distance ambulance services. Physicians benefit from advanced surgical capabilities, interventional cardiology, comprehensive diagnostic and imaging services, and a team-based culture that promotes clinical excellence and collegiality.

Through its academic partnerships with Creighton University School of Medicine and the University of Nebraska Medical Center, providers have opportunities to engage in medical education and teaching. In addition, the upcoming UNMC Rural Health Education Building on the campus of University of Nebraska at Kearney further strengthens Kearney’s role as a growing hub for rural medical education and training — offering physicians meaningful academic involvement while practicing in a community-based setting.
