Mobile Unit Primary Care / Urgent Care NP or PA

Job Details

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Urgent Care Mobile Unit Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA), you will join Dignity Health Medical Group - Sierra Nevada, playing a pivotal role in delivering essential healthcare services across beautiful Nevada County, CA. While also working in our brick-and-mortar Urgent Care Clinic, your primary focus will be staffing our new Mobile Care Unit, bringing urgent and primary care directly to surrounding rural areas.

You will provide expert clinical care within a physician-led, professionally managed practice, with strong physician support and mentorship. This full-time opportunity involves approximately 168 ten-hour shifts per year (about three shifts per week), serving patients independently and leading the care team aboard the Mobile Unit. This unique role requires a willingness and ability to drive the Mobile Care Unit (similar to an RV), maintaining its operational readiness. You will be instrumental in expanding access to care in communities where healthcare providers are deeply appreciated, making a tangible difference in patient lives.

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a background in Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, Primary Care, Street Medicine, or a related specialty. You must possess a CA driver's license with an acceptable driving record and be enthusiastic about providing compassionate care in both clinic and mobile settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellent urgent and primary care services in a Mobile Care Unit, traveling throughout rural communities.
  • Work independently and lead the care team aboard the Mobile Unit.
  • Provide urgent care services at the brick-and-mortar Urgent Care clinic in Grass Valley.
  • Operate and maintain the Mobile Care Unit, including driving, cleaning, stocking, fueling, and waste management.
  • Operating the Mobile Care Unit will include cleaning, stocking, fueling, and filling and emptying the waste tank.
  • Maintenance needs/issues will be reported to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.
  • Must have a CA drivers license and acceptable driving record. No special or commercial license is needed; a normal Class C license is all that is required to drive the mobile care unit.
  • Travel and unit maintenance is included in the 10 hour shift.

We are offering the following incentives to eligible new hires:

  • Compensation: $145,000/year for 1.0 FTE (168 shifts/year), with shift-based compensation and a productivity incentive.
  • 8 weeks of time off annually.
  • Sign-on Incentive and Relocation Incentive available.
  • Generous health and welfare offerings, including group-paid medical and dental insurance options ($0 monthly premium available) and up to $3,000/year employer HSA contribution.
  • Robust retirement plan participation with company match and contributions totaling up to 7-10% of gross pay.
  • PSLF eligible employer.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Active or eligible for an NP or PA license in the state of California
  • Nationally recognized certification (as determined by Medicare)
  • Completion of state mandated educational courses
  • Valid and unrestricted CA driver license
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

  • 1-3 years of experience as an advanced practice provider
