CHI Lakewood Health is actively recruiting an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our well established hospital in Baudette, Minnesota.  We are privileged to serve residents from four counties, neighboring residents of Canada, as well as tourists that come from all over the world due to seasonal tourism and recreational activities. We are proud to offer a full range of services including 24/7/365 emergency room and hospitalist program, testing, surgery, an outpatient primary care clinic, a care center, rehabilitation, and more.  This position supports our busy, ER-Hospitalist program

Essential Areas of Responsibility
- Provide care to patients of all ages - children to geriatrics
- Emergency Room consults, triage and medical care 
- Round, admit and manage health  needs of patients with a significant range of complex and co-morbid disease conditions
- Manages all inpatient care and provides prompt attention to all patients admitted to the hospital, including diagnosis, treatment, and the performance of medical procedures (within your scope of practice)
- Collaborate and coordinate patient care with physicians, nursing, health care personnel, and care team members for patients in the hospital and ER
- Employing quality and process improvement practices to make the hospital a safer place and improve patient outcomes
- Ten (10) shifts per month is full-time. Each 24-hour shift is unrestricted call and APPs can expect to provide 10-12 hours onsite patient care.

We offer a robust compensation packages which includes:
- A base salary $136,677-$151,065

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position:
- will have graduated from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Masters or Doctorate program
- will have Emergency Room or Inpatient experience of 1 year or more, required
- board certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Hospital Medicine
- ACLS, PALS, and ATLS or CALS certified
- will have the qualification to successfully obtain an unrestricted Minnesota practice license and DEA
- interested in a shift-based condensed work schedule [Ten 24-hr shifts is full-time]
- have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
- demonstrate the ability to work independently
- demonstrate the ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing patient demographics and needs

Where You'll Work
Baudette, MN with a population of 935. Baudette is known as the Walleye Capital of the World. We are located just south of Lake of the Woods on State Highways 11 and 172. It is also located near Zippel Bay State Park and Beltrami Island State Forest.  We have an attractive community in an area known for its year round fishing and many outdoor activities. Baudette is home to many fine businesses, specialty shops, restaurants, hotels and resorts with facilities to serve you when you are in the region.
Businesses in the community are able to meet the needs of residents and travelers alike. One attraction in Baudette is Willie the Walleye. He turned 50 years old in 2009 and the city welcomed a brand new fiberglass replica in 2018. Each year in June the City of Baudette celebrates his birthday with "Willie Walleye Day", a fun filled day the entire community participates in. The City maintains three beautiful municipal parks. Timber Mill Community Park, Peace Park (enables you to get a view of Canada and the International Bridge.) and Bay Front Park (Bay Park is home of Willie Walleye.) The River is home to a wide variety of wildlife, and activities.
