Job Summary and Responsibilities

Dignity Health Medical Group – Bakersfield, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery & Specialty Care team. This position offers the opportunity to deliver advanced cardiac and thoracic surgical care within a collaborative, physician-led environment that prioritizes high-quality outcomes and compassionate, patient-centered care.

The Cardiothoracic Surgery program serves a broad and diverse patient population across Kern County and the greater Central Valley. Surgeons work closely with cardiology, anesthesiology, critical care, nursing, and advanced practice providers to deliver coordinated care across the continuum—from diagnosis through surgery and recovery.

Practice Highlights:

  • Comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical services including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair and replacement, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, thoracic surgery, and structural heart procedures  
  • Practice at Dignity Health – Memorial Hospital and the Sarvanand Heart & Brain Center

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Exceptional Compensation Package: Starting at $750,000 - $800,000, including a guaranteed base salary for the first two years.

Job Requirements
  • A valid and unrestricted California medical license
  • Board eligible or board certified in specified area of medical specialty (ABMS or AOA)
  • Completion of an accredited post-graduate training program
  • Interest in long-term practice development within the Bakersfield community
